Ripard Teg wrote:Very much looking forward to CCP's response to this, once they've had the time to give it due consideration. Thanks for posting this, Manifest!
Since they were on vacation since friday and returned today this is a completely new and unexpected emergency, expect a response in a timely (CCP) manner (5 days). |

Edward Olmops wrote:Instead of throwing around Guardian-Vexors, you should maybe create a SOMER faction ship and give them that. No one will question why exactly SOMER gets that fancy shiny ship with the SOMER logo on it and not someone else, right?
Because giving them something even more valuable from a collectors point of view will solve the issue right? |

However you could have said something like "the relevant devs are currently absent, we are going to look into the problem as soon as theyre back", it doesnt state how many are away, why they are and how long they are away, but its a sign of life and thats all we were asking for. |

I don't play EVE online so someone will care about me. GǪand that's not what he said, which is probably why you think it's dumb: because most strawmen are. CCP keeps trotting out this notion that they care about the community. After all, that's the rationalisation for this give-away. They should care about the community because it's what has kept this game going for such a long time, and which has provided them with numerous rewards and media opportunities. All previous instances of them deviating from that has led to some disaster or other, so they have all the experience needed to realise what a bad idea it is to not care about what is probably the most precious part of their IP. Quote:The idea that they are supposed to "care" is one of those GǪlogical conclusions that one draws from their statements and from the nature of their game: one where the community creates a large part of the game and keeps it all together. Oh andGǪ Quote:That's beyond silly. I'm not on welfare lol. GǪit's no more silly than the nonsensical generalisations you keep trotting out. What they say doesn't matter. Reality matters. The Reality is that CCP owes no one anything more than what they promise when you sub. Access to the game. The rest is just fluff. If you fall for all that "I care about you" stuff from any business (not just CCP), well, that's no different than believing in the generosity of Nigerian Princes or the availability of Beach Front property in Montana.
You sound quite bitter, did you recently hit the mid life crisis or something? |

*shrug* it doesn't irritate me much, i just think that secretly you really do care quite a lot or you wouldn't be posting as much as you are.
Care is the wrong word. At the end of the day, participating in this forum is for entertainment. it's totally voluntary. Some people see it as some substantial way to influence CCP (thus all the lobbying), but I think I had my voice heard at the last CSM election (not that the CSM can do more than advise, by they are my "voice" when it comes to me EVE preferences). I do think it's a shame to see otherwise rational people go batshit crazy over something like this. I'm not quite dismayed (I don't know any of them personally), but I am dissapointed to see players/posters I respect lose context.
At the end of the day and over 9000 posts from you how you dont care at all and how CCP can do what they want you seem to be the person who actually cares the most (that you dont care). |

That's why I think the t2o comparison is basically false. Handing some rare but inferior scorps to Somer (an organization with so much isk that 450 bil more doesn't matter) isn't giving them a competitive advantage in anything. in short, i don't see it compromising anything important in the game..
The t2 BPOs handed to BoB werent giving them any significant competetive advantage either, as they didnt produce items of better quality nor did they significantly increase their income, they had huge moongoo income streams at the time. |

Therein lies the difference between us. I come from a tradition of bluntness in public matters. I'm used to being told (bluntly) that I'm wrong and don't know wtf I'm talking about :) .
I think there is honesty in bluntness. I despise pussyfooting around.
